Dla mnie najlepszy burgund próbowany tego dnia w Bziku Kulinarnym, gdy pośród białych http://www.sstarwines.pl/wino15775 królował riesling z Rheingau. Łączył delikatność z siłą, potoczystość, kwasowość z dojrzałością. Usytuował się między stylami dwóch Vosne-Romanee, których zresztą nie ma na fotce;-)

Ocena między 7-8, zaś alkohol na kontrze 12,00-13,50, choć na etykiecie widnieje 13,00. Rocznik 2007 nie nadzwyczajny w Burgundii, ale dojrzałe i miłe to wina są, styl wyniosłych win seniora rodu odszedł już w niepamięć.

The lieu-dit known as "Les Taillepieds" takes its name from its steep hill and the small, sharp gravel on which winegrowers "slashed their feet" while digging into the earth. It faces east and south on a mid-slope composed of light brown clay and lots of tiny gravel stones.

Volnay "Les Taillepieds" has little to envy the great wines of the Côte de Nuits : it is a model of aromatic purity, of precision and of structural exactness. The nose is highly defined, precise, pure, often floral and always mineral and spicy. The mouthfeel is robust with a tannic frame that is strict, dense and minerally.

All of these elements - the minerality, the purity, the structure and the elegance, evoke the image of a Cistercian building, like the abbeys that seem to defy time. Effectively, a "Taillepieds" can age and shine for decades.

*Sweet Spot, Outstanding* As intensely mineral driven as the '07 Mitans is, the Taillepieds is the stoniest wine in the range by a fair margin as the phrase 'extract of liquid limestone' applies. Here the nose is also intensely floral but it's even more tightly integrated with the cool, pure and airy red berry fruit aromas that introduce superbly detailed middle weight flavors that are built on a base of chalk and stone while culminating in a driving and youthfully austere finish that is akin to rolling small pebbles around in your mouth. Bright, full red. Highly complex, pretty aromas of raspberry and flowers hint at the sweetness of the vintage. Lively, nuanced and deep, with a sappy minerality that would have had me guessing Côte de Nuits. Really resounds on the broad, sweet, very long finish. This has delivered on its early potential and is an outstanding effort for the vintage. (3/2010)
