Antinori Guado al Tasso 2000: zaskakuj±co a¿ 4.5/5, chyba jeszcze mog³oby parê lat poczekaæ. I co z tego, ¿e "miêdzynarodowe"? Zw³aszcza gdyby nie by³o a¿ tak drogie :). Kiedy¶ by³o trochê "zieleniny", teraz nie ma, ale mo¿e to inna butelka. @Centrum Wina star (2012-05-17)
Notka wydzielona z szerszego kontekstu, aby nie komentowaæ bondowskiego szampana, to tu sobie pozwolê co nieco napisaæ. Zacznê od producenta, który tak opisuje rocznik: The favorable weather patterns at the beginning of spring favored an early budding of about one week for the various varieties. All through the spring we had excellent weather, warm temperatures and the right amount of rain, resulting in excellent flowering and the relative vegetal cycle. This optimal vegetative balance of the vines ended in full ripening between the end of July and the beginning of August, about 7 to 10 days earlier than usual. The excessive heat wave around mid August, lasting only a week, did not slow down maturation, and the first grapes gathered showed immediate promise of an excellent vintage. Due to the early ripening of the grapes, we began our "green harvest" just after mid-August, selecting and thinning to eliminate any excessive production. In conclusion, the early harvest coupled with a rainless period of picking allowed us to bring in excellent mature grapes. Do wo³owiny z rusztu ju¿ lepiej. S³odycz oczywi¶cie, na szczê¶cie jest i kwasowo¶æ, która (trochê) równa masê. Na upartego to nawet dobre wino. Choæ wspomnieæ co¶ o klasie (mo¿e?), ale d±b... i d±b... i d±b... I ju¿ kolor mocno dojrza³y (2003!)... Nie trzymaæ i piæ, bo takiej beczki chyba nie da siê przeczekaæ. *** Na zachodzie du¿o daj± (RP: 91, WS: 91, WE: 92.). Ja tyle nie mam. Staæ mnie tylko na 5. Z tej notki cenê w³a¶nie skopiowa³em rocznika 2000, który tak¿e z Centrum Wina pochodzi. Pytanie czy te roczniki tak ró¿ne, czy z czasem 2003 na ósemkê te¿ mo¿e zas³u¿y?

Tak siê robi takie winko: Merlot was harvested at the beginning of September, the Cabernet Sauvignonfrom mid September. After destemming and light crushing, the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon were vinified separately; maceration took place in stainless steel tanks over a period of 15-20 days, during which time alcoholic fermentation was also completed, at a temperature never exceeding 30 °C. The resulting wine is rich in colour and very structured but soft on the palate, without any astringency. The wine were then transferred to new French oak barriques (Troncais and Alliers) where malolactic fermentation was completed by the year's end. The wine were then racked, blended and then returned to the barrels for about 14 months aging, followed by aging for about one year in bottles before release. Alcohol : 14,0% Vol.

Tenuta Guado al Tasso was part of feudal lands of about 4,048 hectares along about 7km of coast and belonged to the Della Gherardesca family, whose roots in this region date back to over 1,200 years ago. In the Thirties the land was inherited by Carlotta della Gherardesca Antinori - mother of Piero Antinori - and her sister, who was married to Mario Incisa della Rocchetta (who took possession of the nearby Tenuta San Guido). There were seven castles on the estate, four of which are still standing, and 86 watchtowers, built 1000 years ago to protect the family from Saracen invaders from the African coast.

Guado al Tasso, meaning literally "Badger's Ford", takes its name from a common sight at the estate of Tenuta Guado al Tasso, Bolgheri, where it is produced. The vineyard is at an elevation between 44 and 58 metres (145 and 190 feet) above sea-level on stony, slightly calcareous soils. Tenuta Guado al Tasso is located 60 miles southwest of Florence, near the medieval village of Bolgheri, in an area known as the Maremma. The 900 hectares (2,223 acres) estate stretches up from the shore of the Tyrrhenian Sea to the hills, and aside from extensive vineyards, also grows wheat, corn, sunflowers, tomatoes and olive trees. Guado al Tasso was first produced in 1990; the successive vintages are 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996 and 1997. All the vintages have been produced in limited quantities.
